The thing I loved most about our honeymoon in Italy was that each city was more incredible than the next.
Next stop: Florence.
We took a break from hotel life and spent three nights at an Airbnb right in the heart of the city. We were only a couple blocks away from the Duomo, museums and the Arno River. And even though Florence isn’t that big of a city, there was so much to explore.
The first thing on our list was a visit to the Piazza Michelangelo. Warning you now – it’s a pretty challenging hike up to the top, especially on a hot and humid day! And if the climb doesn’t leave you breathless, the panoramic view of the city surely will.
And obviously, no visit to Italy would be complete without a slice of pizza. We grabbed two pies to-go from Gusta Pizza – made to order and thrown into a brick oven. It was, hands down, the freshest pizza I’ve ever had in my life and if you’re ever in Florence, it’s a must eat!
