A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to play dress up with vente-privee, the site that pretty much pioneered the online flash sale biz. They invited a few fabulous fashion bloggers to check out their NYC office, raid their racks and get their photos snapped. I mean … how could you say no to that?
They had pulled a few favorites from upcoming sales and I promise you, they will not disappoint! As for me, I immediately gravitated towards a stunning floral maxi by Yumi Kim (are you really that surprised?). It’s originally priced at $245, but will be on major sale for $117 on vente-privee from Saturday 5/24 to Tuesday 5/27. Mark your calendars people!
My favorite part, besides getting to know the crew behind VP, was hanging out with a few of my favorites: Lauren, Ashley, Lindsey and Staci. I loved seeing everyone working their magic in the dressing area and in front of the camera. But I did feel slightly for the photographer, who probably had no idea what he was getting himself into (one more shot! one more shot!).

If you haven’t noticed by now, Facebook and Twitter have been flooded with pink and red equal signs in support of marriage equality as the Supreme Court hears oral arguments over California’s Prop. 8 ban on same-sex marriage. I don’t like getting up on soapboxes (I’ll leave the peeps on my Facebook newsfeed), but I’m proud to show my support in any way I can, even if it’s something as simple as wearing red and spreading the word. It’s about sharing the love — and that’s something I can get behind.

It’s no secret that I love to mix prints and patterns: striped, floral, geometric, animal — you name it, I’ve mixed it. So when I matched a striped shirt with a geometric print pant (a no-brainer in my book), I figured I would take it up one more notch and throw some leopard into the mix. The result: an eclectic combination that blends together perfectly!
