Sleeveless in the City

Black Sleeveless Trench & Red Dress

So I’m sleeveless … in November.  That’s weird, right?  … especially after being bundled up from head to toe all week long. But hey, when life gives you 50°F weather on a Sunday afternoon, you take it and pretend like it’s autumn all over again.  I bought this sleeveless trench coat from Ann Taylor a few months back, but never got a chance to wear it until now.  And this rose-print dress?  Perfectly fine for winter, but way more fun with bare legs.  I hope you got a chance to take your favorite fall pieces out for one last spin this weekend … sans sleeves and sans tights.

Spring Shoes

2014 Spring Shoes Trendsdress | booties | heels | wedges

It might not feel like it, but the official first day of spring is this Thursday and that’s the kind of occasion that calls for a new pair of shoes!  So whether you’re ready for open toes or not, there are three pairs that will get through every kind of occasion this season.

Spring Booties & Shoesone | two | three

Shoe #1: The Bootie.  Tired of wearing boots all winter long?  I feel your pain lady.  It’s not quite warm enough to bare my toes in NYC, so I’m gravitating toward a chunky heeled bootie (my current go to right here!).  I especially love them paired with a simple black dress and sans tights.  And the silver lining: booties season will give me some extra time to get my life together and give myself a pedicure!

Shoe #2: The Ankle Strap Heel.  I’m such a sucker for an ankle strap!  Whether they’re sleek and sultry to chunky and color blocked, I love that they how much they elevate an outfit.  If you’re on the more petite side, go for a thinner the strap.

Strappy Spring Wedgesseven | eight | nine

Shoe #3: The Strappy Wedge.  To all my Arizona friends who were already poolside back in January, you’ve probably skipped spring and headed straight into summer.  I’m slightly envious and counting down the days that I get to break out the strappy wedges.  I usually stumble around in heels, but wedges (especially a low wedge!) will always be jam.

What’s your shoe situation right now?  I’d love to hear what kind of kicks you’re looking forward to wearing this spring!

Office Denim

Black & Blue Colorblock BlazerI’m lucky enough to work in an office where I can wear denim, but that doesn’t mean you’ll find me in a weekend-ready look every day of the week.  I try and keep my work and weekend outfits distinct, even if I’m wearing the same pair of jeans for both occasions.Black & Blue Colorblock Blazer The difference between denim on a Sunday and denim on a Monday?  Well, work wear calls for a bit more refinery, which usually means a tucked-in a blouse and a navy blazer paired with my favorite leopard heels.  Top it off with a little bit of lipstick and I feel polished, put together and ready to tackle the week!Black & Blue Colorblock Blazer Black & Blue Colorblock Blazer How to Wear Black & Blue Together How to Wear Black & Blue Together iPhone Mirror
